Shopping Addication

Shopping addiction is a disorder characterized by a compulsive need to acquire things, regardless of the consequences. It is also known as compulsive buying disorder (CSBD) or oniomania. 

Some signs of shopping addiction are: 

  • Buying things that are not needed
  • Buying things on credit
  • Feeling guilty or ashamed after shopping
  • Lying about purchases
  • Neglecting other aspects of life
  • Having financial problems
  • Shopping when you are stressed, sad, bored or lonely

Shopping addiction can be treated with cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, medications, self-help groups, self-help books, and financial counseling. 

Shopping addiction is a serious disorder that can affect personal relationships and cause financial problems.
